Late Pixar story artist Joe Ranft and Tim Burton at Disney in the early 80s. Tim had just had dental surgery, and instead of keeping the gauze in his mouth, he thought it would be much more fun to drool blood on the desks of his coworkers! These two were very good friends and shared a dark humor. Joe's drawings tended to be gruesome and scary, and represented Tim's imagination just as much as his art and films do.
